How to stay safe
This had charming pictures when it was forwarded to me, but I didn't get those in here. This is about as logical as a lot of stuff I hear people say, so thought I would share it.
How to stay safe in the world today:
1. Avoid riding in automobiles because they are responsible for 20% of all fatal accidents.
2. Do not stay home because 17% of all accidents occur in the home.
3. Avoid walking on streets or sidewalks because 14% of all accidents occur to pedestrians.
4. Avoid traveling by air, rail, or water because 16% of all accidents involve these forms of transportation.
5. Of the remaining 33%, 32% of all deaths occur in Hospitals. So, ... above all else, avoid hospitals.
BUT, ... You will be pleased to learn that only .001% of all deaths occur in worship services in church, and these! are usually related to previous physical disorders. Therefore, logic tells us that the safest place for you to be at any given point in time is at church!
...And...Bible study is safe too. The percentage of deaths during Bible study is even less.
So,...for SAFETY'S sake - Attend church, and read your Bible . IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!

How about "Ignore all the do-gooder busy-bodies with their fear-mongering and conflicting surveys and just LIVE FREE!?"
Ed, I think that was the point of the story.
Perhaps the point of the story is that people use irrelevant items to support whatever they are trying to prove.
Of more concern to me is why I could not post a comment on the Motley Crew post, namely that I do not remember signing an agreement to have that picture posted. If, indeed that is a "pius" look, the correct spelling would be "pious".
Now my reputation for being critical should be restored. Unless I should have added the fact that the word "occasion" has no "t" in it, we never lived in a parsonage--it was the "preacher's home"; the one you lived in was not next door, but two blocks away, and if Mary reads this page she may--just may--be offended at the thought that she should weigh 100 pounds less, let alone that she has deteriorated steadily since 1987.
Having said that, those were good comments you made.
I guess that explains why the spellcheck wanted to capitalize "pius." No doubt it assumed I was refering to a Pope.
In reference to the picture, I interpret the permission first rule not to apply if I am in the picture, because I am posting a picture of myself, and the other people happen to be standing around me.
I think you will agree that we all looked better in that picture than we do now. The years do take their toll.
That said, I noticed this morning that the quote you found possibly offensive was enclosed totally in parentheses, but the period was places outside the ending parenthesis. I did not notice that error mentioned in your detailed edit.
How many places outside?
Good. Now I can post all those pictures of you that you don't like, as long as I am in them.
You already have, several posts ago.
