Thank you

Thanks to everyone who helped with the scrapbook for Granny and Poppy, it was a resounding success. My goal when giving gifts from the heart is to touch the person recieving it in such a way that they shed a tear, and the scrapbook touched them both. So thanks so much to everyone who helped, I could not have done it by myself.

Let me thank you, Jami, here for all to see. It was a beautiful act, and a beautiful book and tribute. Yes, it did touch us both deeply, and it will be a treasured reminder for the rest of our lives.

Thanks, too, to those of you who wrote here and by email and in the book. Ed, your letter was wonderful. I must have been an insufferable small child.

Fifty years is a long time. I suppose that when I thought about it at all that I would have thought we would be doddering old folks, which, while we seem to be approaching rapidly, is not the case yet. It is a sobering thought to know that we cannot do a second fifty years, and we do not know what fraction of that will be left. For those of you who have already made fifty, I really didn't realize what a step that is, and for those of you who are approaching that, congratulations. For those of you who will never do that, you have areas in your lives that carry a weight and value of their own, and keep on doing what it takes to achieve those.

Christy, thank you for your note. It was well put. Betty, thanks for yours.

Take care, all.

Who said anything about insufferable? I said she was terrifying when cornered and freightened.
