Computer Problems

I had been having an increasingly difficult time with my computer messing up. David might say it is because I have too much junk on my desktop, and Russell might say that it is because I use Windows when I should be using Linux. I was getting that "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and must close" message every few minutes. I did the usual things, cleaned and reinstalled a virus program (and found a Trojan Horse)but the improvement was little and didn't last long. It is very disconcerting and aggravating, as you all know, to have to restart and redo whatever one is doing, and I was thinking seriously of a new computer. I do not want to spend any money on a new computer, as long as mine works, and I had just bought a new printer. Anyhow, Richard suggested that I download Mozilla Firefox. I had understood that to be a Linux browser, and remember, that is not what I use. Anyway, to shorten this lengthy nattering, I did that, have had no more trouble, and have discovered that it has some nice features. So thank you, Richard, and the purpose of this post is to recommend that if IE is giving you problems, you might consider Firefox. It is very easy to access by Googling "Firefox".

Happy Birthday to Ed

Saturday, March 25 is Ed's birthday. Happy Birthday, Ed. I could not find the picture I wanted of you when you were a baby, so we will just call this a birthday picture. David, you are not in it because you were not yet born. I would place it in 1944 or early 1945, at the house in the country in Oklahoma City.

Update Notification

While I do not know how Blogger handles mulitiple updates, I thought the enscussion of such things warranted my posting this bit of information: there is a website that you can go to for free which will allow you to create a list of people who can get update emails. A person can enter an email address into a box on your site. Just go to Notify List for more information. I put one on my blog so that my one or two readers could get updates if they wanted them...

Photos

I tried to post photos and it kept saying that it had added the images to my post, but they never showed up, so I just gave up on the post...what could I be doing wrong?

Welcome to the Tucson Citizen

Welcome to the Tucson Citizen: "Six anti-war protesters who blocked the entrance to a Raytheon Missile Systems site were arrested yesterday. A support-the-troops rally was nearby."

Fun times where I work.
