Walk a thon
HI Everyone,
I hope you are all doing well. Things are busy here in Ark. I am working as an aide on a handicapped school bus and that has been a real challenge....(that is putting it mildly) but I think that I have convinced one boy that I mean business, so we will have peace for a couple of days. It seems to be about once a week that I have to remind him who is boss. The rest of the kids are really great and give me no trouble. They all hug me in the morning and wave bye in the afternoon. All in all it is a good experience. But anyway, enough about that. Our embroidery business is also picking up, thanks to one industrious lady named Connie. She has really been going out and gathering up sales. She came across one lady that owns three pharmacies and they sell school shirts in them and want us to do all the stocking for them. So far we have only done one order but they just had to replace all their computers so it may be a couple of months before they can get some more shirts. Unless the public really demands them...That is. Which is what I hope for. We also have a couple of other schools that are going to take orders for shirts that we make up and put in their office, so that may turn good also.
We are still home schooling. This year Crystal is in the ninth grade and it is really exciting. She is taking an online course called Intro to Aviation Science. She is thinking about being a pilot so I thought that would be a good course for her to take. So far it has been fun.
Next month, our home school group is doing a walk a thon. The money we raise goes to help families in our group and to fund our lending library. Half of the money will go to the Education Alliance. They are a group that helps home schooling families in a lot of ways. One thing they do is put on a convention each year with classes and speakers and they also have a graduation ceremoney for seniors all over the state. They depend soley on donations. We are going to be walking 5 miles and it will be the second Tuesday of next month. So we are looking for sponsors and you don't have to pay right now. They will send you a bill after the walk is over. The minimum is $2 per mile which would be $10. You can pledge more if you like. If you can help, please email your name, address, and amt to teripitts@centurytel.net
Well....gotta run for now. Thanks and hope everyone has a blessed week.
Teri and Crystal
