Genogram

I am working on an Oral History project for one of my college classes, constructing the history of the lives and relationship of my grandparents, David and Carolyn (Broadus) Snow, through their own words and various outside research.

As part of this class assignment, the professor requested that we each turn in a Genogram. It is basically a family tree, but it includes other information as well, in this case the professions, hobbies, and educational background of the members of the family.

This leaves me with an interesting task, as I have no way of knowing such information about family members whom I have never met. If anyone would like to help me with this part of my project, you could either post it here or we could correspond via email. Posting it here seems somewhat appropriate, though, as part of this blog has been dedicated to explorations of our mutual ancestries.

These genograms can be very interesting. For example, I already know that my Mo Mo (my father's father's mother) was a poet, and I am a poet. I already know that my mother, Amy Ruth Snow, is an artist, musician, singer/songwriter, and I am all of those things. It is really fun to see what traits I have in common with people, especially though what traits I have in common with people whom I have never had the pleasure of meeting.

My genogram is only supposed to go up a short number of generations, so I have D.T. Broadus as oldest generation and my daughter as the most recent generation.
